Finance Manager

(Norwich)

Overview of role

Further is part of Gravity Global, an award winning, world-leading B2B communications agency.

We’re growing fast and as a result we’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to support the Performance Marketing division (based in Norwich) and the Digital division (based in London and Poland).

Working closely with the management team of each division, to support business operations and providing reporting for group finance and the divisional boards.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the finance function of each division, including the maintenance of processes, forecasting and reporting with input and guidance from group finance as required
  • Full ownership of the monthly management account process. You will be responsible for the preparation of and the quality of the monthly management accounts packs
  • Revenue and cost recognition
  • Day to day book-keeping duties
  • Overseeing payments and bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing debtors and liaising with client teams to ensure debts are recovered in a timely manner
  • Working with group finance to implement and develop control and processes
  • Supporting a monthly re-forecasting process across the group
  • Co-ordinating and reviewing year-end close and completion/submission of reporting and statutory obligations
  • Through analytical review, producing commercial insight into key data and business drivers on a regular basis for the local team and the board
  • Identify and produce insightful reports concerning the impact of business decisions on key business metrics, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure budgets are accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Preparation of financial statements, reports and other ad-hoc documentation for Board usage
  • Managing and complying with regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of monthly payroll in conjunction with our third-party payroll provider
  • Ensuring that the inter-company position is reconciled monthly
  • Building strong relationships with all stakeholders and acting as a professional face of the company

Experience / skills required

  • CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience of working with formalized monthly reporting processes
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Good understanding of revenue and cost recognition processes

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines and to act on own initiative
  • First class communication skills, competent at communicating at all levels with both finance and non-finance teams

Remuneration / Hours

  • Competitive salary
  • Annual holiday entitlement of 20 days which increases by 1 additional day per full year of service up to a maximum of 25 days
  • Normal working hours are 37.5 per week, with core hours from 9.30 am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, though a degree of flexibility will be required
